Crowns and bridges are reliable solutions for major dental problems caused through accidents, cavities, small fractures, or normal wear. Old existing crowns, bridges, and fillings may need to be replaced with new restorations. We can ensure that your new work looks and feels natural.

Materials

We can make crowns and bridges out of many different materials to suit your needs. Our office can offer “same-day” or “in-office crowns,” using CEREC technology. We can also make strong gold crowns or long span bridges with the assistance from an off-site dental lab. This type of procedure requires about 2 weeks in a temporary crown or bridge.

Bridges

A Bridge can replace a missing tooth by connecting two crowns on either side of the space with a pontic. These are fixed to your teeth just like a crown and do not come in and out. Sometimes a “Maryland bridge” is indicated. This is a very conservative approach to replacing a missing front tooth that uses a fake tooth with wings bonded to the backs of the adjacent teeth, hidden from view.

    Considerations

If you are missing more than one tooth, it may be more economical to have a removable partial or denture rather than multiple bridges. We would be happy to review all your options at your appointment.

Replacing missing teeth is important to restoring chewing function, preventing the migration of the surrounding teeth, and supporting your bone and face shape.

How do I take care of my crown or bridge?

A strict regimen of brushing and flossing will keep the crown or bridge and the surrounding teeth clean. This is especially important for a bridge, as it relies on the neighboring teeth for support. Rinses and Waterpik irrigation can assist in keeping the bridge free of impacted food.

Our crowns and bridges are reliable dental solutions that utilize the latest technology.
